Thread: Reviews/Opinions on Sony's Vegas Pro Software Series DVD or others?

Default Reviews/Opinions on Sony's Vegas Pro Software Series DVD or others?

I'm about to purchase the $129 Vegas Pro at B&H. Should I get the Sony Seminar Series Training DVD for $79? Or does anyone have a recommendation for a good learning tool for Vegas? I checked Amazon and the Vegas Pro Editing Workshop book is really the only recent tool they offer. Thanks for your help.

I would really suggest that you first use the interactive help that comes with Vegas (on the help menu, and as a popup the first time you load vegas). The interactive help really helps understand the logic behind Vegas. Plus, Sony has WMV tutorial files on their site too.

If that's not enough, then I guess you can look into buying training DVDs. But I would suggest you first exhaust the free ways.

And there quite a few .veg files that you can download and "reverse engineer" to see how these projects were built.

Thanks! I guess I was overcomplicating things.

im new to vegas, and i got that dvd, but am not happy, was way too short, not much info

multi cam and titler tut were only thing i got benefit from

class on demand and lynda.com was better, and of course the interactive help eugina suggested

o, and by the way, one of the few tuts was about the darn interactive help, (can you tell i feel i got ripped off)

www.videoguys.com have class on demand vegas 7 training for 29 bucks, great price, and i would recommend the site to anyone, great service that should get you up and running with the basics

If you have some basic knowledge of non linear editing, the interactive tutorials are pretty good. You might also check out YouTube, as people post tutorials there as well. Some are good, others, well......not so good.
