    Free file hosting, you know:
    - you can ftp to hv20.info
    - use anonymous as login and password
    - max file size is 250MB
    - please only upload HV20 related material (I'll keep an eye out for unrelated items and remove them)
    - use a free ftp program to upload, such as FileZilla on the PC: http://www.download.com/FileZilla/30...ml?tag=lst-3-7
    - you need to link to your file like this: http://hv20.info/yopu/yourfilename.extention (example: http://hv20.info/yopu/hello.gif )

    That's a shock-mount for a microphone.
Looks like a built-in type...probably the Rode Videomic.

Please post pics here that you took with the HV20; not frame grabs, but using the STILL PIC feature...

I set the camera for aperture priority, opened it all the way up, stood back from the flowers, zoomed in, and focused. This knocked the backround out of focus, the effect I was going for. Not the most amazing photo, but it shows the depth of field effect I was testing out.

    Hahaha, never even noticed that!
Whats the spec there, what make and model of hood and mic you got plus lens?
    Panasonic HMC 151E - Canon HV20 - Twoneil 35mm Static Adapter - Nikon f1.4 50mm - Rode Videomic - 2x AudioTechnica ATR35 - Zoom H2 - Steadicam JR - Custom LED Lamp

Mic would be Videomic by Rode, matte box is Matteblox by Cinetactics, and lens is WD-H43 by Canon.

The SOUNDS section is where to go for microphone related stuff; and here's a thread about external microphones:
